Continuing students with a registered Lexis ID automatically will have full access to Lexis for purposes including clerking, interning, externing, or working at a firm, during May, June, July, and August 2024.
Westlaw offers access for educational (non-commercial) purposes over the summer for continuing students.

Continuing students with a registered Bloomberg Law ID automatically will have unlimited and unrestricted access all summer.
Continuing law students have off-campus access to the law library's subscription databases. A comprehensive list is available on the Subscription Database page. Once a student clicks on a database listed on the page above, he/she will be prompted to log-in with their University of Miami CaneID (CaneLink username without the @miami.edu) and password.
Graduating students with a registered Lexis ID automatically will have full access to Lexis through December 31, 2024 with no restrictions or limits on research. Graduating students’ view of the Lexis Law School Home Page will switch from their current view to the graduate view after July 1.
For graduates who are going into verifiable nonprofit work and are interested 12 months of free access to federal and state cases, codes, regulations, law reviews, Shepard’s and Matthew Bender treatises, apply to the ASPIRE program.
Westlaw is offering graduating students full access to Westlaw and Practical Law for 60 hours per month for non-commercial use through November 30, 2024 to build confidence in researching and to help study for the bar, but you must take action to get this access!
To extend your access from June 1, 2024 through November 30, 2024, log into Westlaw at https://lawschool.thomsonreuters.com/ and then use the drop-down menu by your name to select Grad Elite Status OR go directly to the sign-up page at https://lawschool.westlaw.com/authentication/gradelite.

Westlaw educational passwords may only be used by law students currently enrolled at the University of Miami and solely for educational purposes. This includes work for law classes, student journals, or other law student activities. In addition, usage is permitted when students work as research assistants for faculty members or perform unpaid non-profit work.
